Marie Meineke

Marie Meineke of Mora died at the Kanabec Hospital in Mora on Septermber 18, 1982 at the age of 78.

She was born in Oslo Norway to Frank and Marie Anderson on March 18, 1904. She spent her early years in Comfort Township, Kanabec County and moved to Mora in 1977.

She was united in marriage to Ralph E. Meineke at the Grasston Baptist Church on June 2, 1923. They spent their entire life farming in Comfort Township and moved to Mora upon retirement in 1977. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Mora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson; one son, Darges; one sister, Margaret Rolf; and four brothers, Frank, Gotfred, Ivere and Ralph.

She is survived by her husband Ralph; two daughters Eleanor Kranz and Delpha Hallstrom of Minneapolis; two sons, Evans of Minneapolis and David of Hibbing; 11 grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Mortenson of Minneapolis and Ruth Willems of Mora; two brothers, Henry Anderson of Braham and John Anderson of Cambridge.

Funeral services were held from Emmanuel Baptist Church of Mora on Monday, Sept. 20; 11 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Tarman officiating.

Interment was at the Oakwood Cemetery, Mora. Palbearers were Mark Hallstrom, Mike Kranz, Rihcard Kranz, Larry Maki, Steve Meineke and Wayne Meineke.

Akkerman Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.6,7

Frank Anderson Funeral Held in Mora Monday

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 22 at the Emmanuel Baptist church, Mora, for Frank Anderson, 79, who died Aug 19 at Moose Lake.

The Rev. Paul Thompson officiated at the last rites. Pallbearers were Vernon Anderson, Duane Anderson, Evans Meineke, Robert Anderson, Philip Anderson, and Richard Rolf. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Mora.

Frank Anderson was born March 13, 1876 in Bohusland, Sweden. He resided in Sweden until he was about 16, then moving to Norway where he resided until 1906 when he came to this country. On March 13, 1898 at Christiania, Norway, he was married to Marie Glad. Ten children were born to them.

In 1943 Mr. Anderson made his residence in Mora. He was a member of the Emmanual Baptist church in Mora.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; four daughters, Mary (Mrs. R.E. Meineke), Elizabeth (Mrs. Oscar Mortenson), Ruth (Mrs. N.P. Willems), Margaret (Mrs. Herman Rolf) and six sons, Frank, Gottfred, Sverre, John, Ralph, and Henry. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.9

Services Held Here for Mrs. Marie Anderson, 91

Funeral seravices were held Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Emmanuel Baptist church in Mora for Mrs. Marie Anderson, 91, of rural Mora who died at the Grandview Nursing home in Cambridge Sunday, Nov. 20. The Rev. Vincent Tellgren and the Rev. Richard Weins officiated.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Eugene Anderson, Philip Anderson, Evans Meineke, Vernon Anderson, Duane Anderson and Richard Rolf. Soloist was Mrs. Evans Meineke and organist was Mrs. Marie Salmonson. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery.

Dresser Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Marie Glad was born Sept. 10, 1875, in Sweden. She was married to Frank Anderson on March 13, 1898 in Christiania, Norway. The Andersons came to America in 1906 and settled in Comfort township. In 1943 the Andersons moved to Mora; Mr. Anderson preceded his wife in death in 1955. She made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Meineke until she moved to the Grandview home.

Mrs. Anderson was also preceded in death by one son, Ralph. She is survived by: five sons, Frank and Sverre, both of Battle lake, Gottfred of Mora, John of Onamia and Henry of Braham; four daughters, Mrs. R. E. Meineke (Mary) of Mora, Mrs. Oscar Mortenson (Elizabeth), Mrs. N.P. Williams (Ruth) and Mrs Herman Rolf (Margaret), all of Minneapolis; 35 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren.3,4

WHITED WOMAN CLAIMED BY DEATH

Mrs. Nels Lidstrom Succumbs Following Long Period of Ill Health

Death came to Mrs. Nels Lidstrom of Whited township Monday morning at 7 o'clock. She had been confined to her bed suffering from a tumor since the middle of September and had been in poor health for some time before that. Mrs. Lidstrom has lived with her family in Whited township since 1904, coming directly to this county from Sweden with her husband. She served for several years as president of the Quamba Baptist ladies' aid, and she was among the highly respected early settlers of this county.

Anna Christina Person was born July 11, 1863, in Skorped, Ongermanland, Sweden. She was married there April 20, 1884, to Nels Lidstrom. They came to America in 1904, and have since made their home on a farm in Whited township, Kanbec county. Mr. and Mrs. Lidstrom became the parents of twelve children, eleven of whom survive with their father. They are Martha (Mrs. Erick Eklund), Gust, Caroline (Mrs. John Hallstrom), Christine (Mrs. Nels Hallstrom), Ole, Nels Jr., Harry and Herbert of this county, Amanda (Mrs. Boyd Anderson) of Knoxville, Iowa, Hulda (Mrs. Floyd Blackman) of Worley, Idaho, and John of St. Paul.

Rev. Vincent Tellgren will conduct funeral services at the Dresser chapel Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock and at the Quamba Baptist church at 2 o'clock. Six grandsons, Henry and Harold Hallstrom, Ralph and Clifford Hallstrom and Dallas and Brody Edlund will be pallbearers. Mrs. Joe Solfelt and Mrs. Arthur Rentz will sing, with Mrs. George Bjorklund as their accompanist. Burial will be made in the Oakwood cemetery.5,6,2

Arlene Geneva Meineke, the third daughter of Lewis and Bodil Anderson, amongst many things loved people. Arlene is survived by her children Wayne Meineke, Patricia Selness (David), Steve Meineke (Julie), her grand- children Nisa Meineke, Jesse Selness (Katie), Andrew Selness, Benjamin Selness (Stacy), Christa Van Zee (Matthew), and her nine great-grandchildren: Connor, Ella, Britten, Chloe, Asher, Hanna, Caleb, Imogen, and Anna. She also opened her arms to her nieces and nephews, and their children. She will be greatly missed. A special thanks to N.C.Little Hospice for assisting our mother in her last days, they so cheerfully, gently cared for her. For affliction is momentary and light when compared to the glory she now sees. Funeral service Wed., May 28, 2 PM, Grace Church, Eden Prairie.3
