Death*27 Dec 1925 Lincoln, Lancaster Co., Nebraska; It is with regret that Burwell friends learned through the Lincoln papers the first of the week of the death of Dr. T. F. Britt. Dr. Britt came to Burwell many years ago and for years practiced here. A few years ago he gave up his practice here and moved to Lincoln where with his wife he has made his home until a few months ago he moved to Sterling, Colorado, to be nearer one of his daughters. His health has been in a bad way for some time and it recently became necessary for him to undergo a surgical operation. Burwell friends supposed that he had been enjoyed (sic) better health. A letter from Mrs. Britt to John Beynon states that recently his condition became worse and the doctor at Sterling advised that he be brought to Lincoln at once as there was little hope that he could live long. The Lincoln Star has the following to say regarding his death:---

Dr. Thomas F. Britt, 69, passed away at a local hospital Sunday evening at eight o'clock, after a six weeks illness. He had been a medical practitioner here for fourty-one (sic) years and in 1888 when he came to Lincoln, treated the first case received at St. Elizabeth hospital.

Dr. Britt was graduated from the Loyola medical school at Chicago in 1884 and moved to Robinson Colo. After living in Lincoln for two years he went to Burwell until 1919 then returned here. He continued his work until his last illness.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Tribe of Ben Hur.

Besides his widow, Mary, Dr. Britt leaves three daughters, Mrs. Clay E. DeLashmutt of Sterling, Colo., Mrs. Julius R. White of Aurora, and Mrs. George O'Brien of Grafton.
