Death*11 Dec 1920 Geneva, Wabash Co., Nebraska; MILLER, JONAS B.—Jonas B. Miller died at his home in Chelsea township at 6 a.m. December 11, 1920, aged 71 years, 2 months and four days. Mr. Miller was born in Miama county, Indiana, October 7, 1849. He united with the Brethren church in 1881.

January 17, 1875, he was united in marriage to Mary Titus. To this union were born twelve children: Mrs. George Churchill, Mrs. Cora Butterbaugh, Mrs. William Ralston, Mrs. Fred Fox, Alvah, Johnnie, Roy, Wilson, Viola, Effa, Maude, and Nora.

Besides the wife, children, and fourteen grandchildren, he is survived by two brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; also by his father and mother. February 20, 1884, Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved from their home in Indiana to a farm seven miles southeast of Geneva. Later they moved to the home where the family now resides.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Modern Woodmen, and Fraternal Aid lodges.

When he came to Nebraska, his neighbor and boyhood friend, Frank Gamble decided to come also. They lived on adjoining farms in Chelsea for several years. Mr. Gamble moved to Geneva, then to Idaho, where his home now is. Mr. Miller and Mr. Gamble had been separated for the last ten or twelve years, until last week when they were able to be together again in Mr. Miller's home where they renewed their old friendship.

All eight of Mr. Miller's married children are within a few miles of home and many have been the happy gatherings in that home. This is the first one to leave the home circle for the great beyond, but, nevertheless the rest are looking forward to the meeting when all will be reunited, never to be parted again.

The funeral was held from the home Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Edgar Rothrock of Holmesville, Neb., was in charge of the services.... Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.

F, b. 10 September 1855, d. 6 July 1925
Appears on charts:Ancestry of Darrell Wayne Fessler
Married Name Miller1
Birth*10 Sep 1855 Roann, Wabash Co., Indiana; MILLER, MARY ELIZABETH—Mary Elizabeth Miller, nee Titus, wife of the late Jonas B. Miller, was born near Roann, Ind., September 10, 1855, and moved to heaven July 6, 1925, aged 69 years, 9 months and 26 days.

On January 17, 1875, she was married to Jonas B. Miller. To this union were born twelve children, eight daughters and four sons. Nine of these twelve children are married and live near home, while three live at home.

She became a member of the Church of the Brethren in 1878 and has lived a faithful Christian life.

In 1884 the family moved to Nebraska and settled near Geneva, where their home has been since that time.

Though she has been an invalid for nearly two years, she has been patient and Christ-like through it all. Her death, which was peaceful, was caused by diabetes.

Her husband preceded her in death, having passed away December 11, 1920. Those who survive are the twelve children, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren all of near Geneva, and one brother, Asa Titus of Roann, Ind.

"Thus star by star declines
Till all are passed away,
As morning high and higher shines
To pure and perfect day; Nor sink those stars in empty night,
They hide themselves in heaven's own light."
