Death*17 Feb 1882 Spring Prairie, Walworth Co., Wisconsin, USA; Obituary.
Died, at the family residence, Spring Prairie, in the early morning hours of February 17, after a brief and violent illness marked by intense suffering, Mrs. Ann R. Hubbard, wif of Ogden T. Hubbard, Esq.

The funeral services were held at the Union church in Spring Prairie, Saturday, February 18, at 2 o'clock p.m., the Rev D.L. Holbrook, of Geneva, officiating.

Mrs. Hubbard was the daughter of Deacon James Carkey, a well known and highly respected citizen of Mt. Morris, Livingston county, N.Y., where she was born on the 17th day of May, 1828.

She was the eldest of three daughters, who had the misfortune to lose their mother's care when quite young, and as the oldest sister, she soon developed those sterling traits of real womanly character which went with her through life, and endeared her to all who knew her. Her industry and intellectual powers gave her a good standing for scholarship in the higher schools of her native town and for some time she enjoyed the advantages of the Ingham University at Leroy, New York. During several years she filled the position of teacher in one of the schools of Mt. Morris, with credit to herself and profit to her pupils.

At an early age she became a member of the Presbyterian church and during her life maintained a consistent and unblemished Christian character.

On the 30th day of October, 1948, she was united in marriage, by the Rev. C.H. A. Buckley, in her native town, to Mr. Ogden T. Hubbard. The young couple at once started for the then far west to seek for themselves a home. They first settled at East Troy, but after about one year they removed to Spring Prairie, where they have continued to reside for over thirty-two years.

She has left to her bereaved husband and family a blessed memory of a noble Christian mother's life, to her church the example an active Christian member, and to her social circle the regretful recollections of all who enjoyed an intimate association with her.

To a life of pure womanly devotion she added a death of unfaltering Christian faith. For so he giveth his beloved sleep.2
